When you need this

In the United States, exercise is a big part of small talk and of the calendar. Gyms are full in January, charity runs fill the spring weekends, and coworkers compare step counts on Monday. If you live or work with Americans, you'll hear these phrases often.

Many of them are casual and a little funny. "Hit the gym" doesn't mean you're angry at it. A "weekend warrior" isn't a soldier. Knowing them helps you understand the joke and join in.
