When you need this

Not everyone goes to a gym. Many people stay active with walking, running, cycling or swimming, and they talk about it a lot. These are the phrases for everyday movement, from a slow walk to a long run.

Notice the verb pattern "go for a": go for a walk, go for a run, go for a swim, go for a bike ride. It means one session, today. Americans measure distance in miles, so you'll hear "I ran three miles," about five kilometers.
