Meaning
"Twenty-four seven" means all the time: twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In writing it's almost always "24/7". It started in American English and is now used everywhere.
It has two uses. The literal one is about services that never close: a 24/7 pharmacy, a help line that answers 24/7, a diner open 24/7. That's neutral and fine anywhere, including signs and business writing.
The second use is an exaggeration about people: "He works 24/7" or "My neighbor's dog barks 24/7". Nobody means every hour of every day; it means "far too much, constantly". That use is casual and often a complaint. If you say a colleague is "on their phone 24/7", it's a criticism, so keep it for friends.
It works as an adverb ("They work 24/7") and before a noun ("24/7 support").
