When you need this
Some computer sentences come up every single workday, whatever your job is. You log in, you forget a password, you share your screen on a call, you ask someone to send a file again because it didn't come through. None of them are technical. They're the small talk of working on a computer, and knowing them keeps a meeting moving when something goes wrong.
Notice how many of these are phrasal verbs: log in, lock out, back up, pull up, sign out. They're short, they're what people really say, and they sound more natural than the formal words on the screen. "I can't log in" is how you'd say it to a coworker; "authentication failed" is how the computer says it to you.
