One drink, then bed

Shadow Amara first. She starts flat and tired, then wakes up on "They were?" Let your voice lift there. Then take Lucas's part. He persuades by making things small, "one drink, a few questions", so keep his tone light and easygoing, never pushy.

1. LucasAmara, we're heading to the dinner by the river. You're coming, right?
2. AmaraI think I'll call it a night. I've been talking since eight this morning.
3. LucasI get it. But the people from the Nairobi office will be there.
4. AmaraThe ones building the delivery app?
5. LucasThose ones. They were asking about your team's mapping project this afternoon.
6. AmaraThey were? Why didn't anyone tell me?
7. LucasI'm telling you now. They're looking for a partner for their Berlin launch.
8. AmaraThat's actually interesting. But I'm terrible at networking. I never know what to say.
9. LucasYou don't need a speech. Ask them what's been hard about the project. They'll do the rest.
10. AmaraAnd if I start falling asleep at the table?
11. LucasThen you leave. One drink, a few questions, and you're back at the hotel by ten.
12. AmaraCan I tag along without sitting through a three-course dinner?
13. LucasSure. Come for drinks at the start. Nobody keeps track of who stays for dessert.
14. AmaraOkay. One drink. If I'm still standing at ten, don't try to keep me there.
15. LucasDeal. I'll introduce you to their head of tech. She's friendly, I promise.
