Meaning
To grab a bite is to eat something quick and casual. It's not a three-course dinner with candles. It's a sandwich, a bowl of noodles, a slice of pizza on the way somewhere. "Grab" tells you it's fast, the way you grab your keys on the way out the door. "A bite" is a small amount of food, one mouthful stretched into a meal.
It's friendly and relaxed, and it works almost everywhere: with friends, with coworkers, even with a new client if the meeting is informal.
