Meaning

"Now you're talking" means "Yes, that's a much better idea." You say it when someone changes their suggestion or offer into something you really like. The word "now" matters: it compares this idea with the last one. Before, the other person was saying things you didn't care about. Now they're finally talking sense.

It is casual and cheerful, a thing friends, family and relaxed coworkers say. It can sound a bit like a salesperson or a sports fan, which is part of the fun. Avoid it with a new boss or a client unless the mood is already light. If you want the same idea more politely, "That sounds much better" works anywhere.

Listen, then copy the energy. The stress lands on "now", and the voice goes up with a smile.

Say it today

Use it once in a real conversation before tomorrow. Out loud counts, even to yourself.
