Meaning
"Good thinking" means "That was a smart idea." You say it when someone has thought ahead or solved a small problem: they brought a charger, they booked the table early, they checked the address twice. It's praise for the decision, not for the person's intelligence in general.
It is friendly and works almost everywhere, from home to the office. Coworkers say it to each other all the time, and a manager can say it to a team member. The long version is "That's good thinking." A close cousin is "Smart move." Said in a flat, slow voice after a mistake, "Good thinking" turns sarcastic, so watch your tone.
