Meaning

"It's a deal" means "I agree to your offer." Two people each promise something, and this phrase closes it, like a handshake in words. The deal is usually small and everyday: you drive, I pay for gas; you help me move, I buy the pizza. The short form "Deal" does the same job and sounds even more casual.

It is friendly and a bit playful, good with friends, family, roommates and relaxed coworkers. In a real business negotiation, people do say "We have a deal," but the everyday version is for favors and trades. You can also ask it as a question: "Deal?" means "Do you accept?"
