When you need this
A home poker night is more about the people than the cards. Someone sends a message on Tuesday, someone else brings chips and salsa, and the real prize is bragging rights until next month. The language is playful: people tease each other, pretend to be confident, and complain loudly about their bad luck.
Two kinds of phrases matter here. The first kind gets you to the table: saying yes, saying no, asking what to bring. The second kind keeps the game friendly while it's happening.
