When you need this

Planning a honeymoon is travel planning with two people's dreams and one shared budget. You'll talk about it with your partner, a travel agent, hotels and airlines. Most of it is ordinary travel English. The difference is one sentence: "We're on our honeymoon." Hotels and restaurants like to hear it, and it sometimes gets you a better room or a dessert with a candle in it.

Start with the big three: where, when and how much. Then check the boring things that ruin trips when you forget them: passports, visas, the cancellation policy. A passport that expires in two months can stop you at the airport in many countries, even if it's still valid.

Timing matters too. Many couples fly out the morning after the wedding, tired and happy. Others wait a day or two to rest. Say what you want out loud before you book, because "I thought we'd leave on Sunday" is not a fight anyone needs.
