NoahMeera

Practice · 3 min

Take Noah's part first, then Meera's. Noah starts disappointed and a little grumpy; Meera is calm because she's already found the answer. Copy Noah's change of mood on "Food stalls. Now you're talking."

  1. NoahMeera, have you looked outside? It's pouring.
  2. MeeraI've been watching it since six. The mountain tour has been called off.
  3. NoahNo. That was the whole reason we came to Kyoto this week.
  4. MeeraI know. They said the paths are too dangerous in this rain.
  5. NoahWhat about the bamboo forest? We could go this afternoon instead.
  6. MeeraI checked. The trains out there aren't running. There's flooding on the line.
  7. NoahSo we're stuck in the hotel for our last full day. Great.
  8. MeeraNot stuck. We need a plan B. Something indoors.
  9. NoahLike what? Watching TV in Japanese?
  10. MeeraThere's a tea ceremony class two streets away. It's in an old wooden house.
  11. NoahA tea ceremony. Is it long?
  12. MeeraTwo hours. And after that, the covered market. Hundreds of food stalls, all with roofs.
  13. NoahFood stalls. Now you're talking.
  14. MeeraAnd tonight, the hot spring bath on the roof. It's even nicer in the rain.
  15. NoahYou've really planned this, haven't you?
  16. MeeraSince six this morning. I didn't want to waste our last day.
  17. NoahOkay. Let's make the most of it. Do I need to wear something special?
  18. MeeraClean socks. You take your shoes off at the door.
  19. NoahI'm glad you asked. Give me five minutes.

Say it today

Use it once in a real conversation before tomorrow. Out loud counts, even to yourself.
