“I'd like to book a car, picking up at the airport on Friday.”

When you need this
Booking ahead is almost always cheaper than walking up to the counter, and in busy seasons it's the only way to get a car at all. On the phone, the agent fills a form, so the questions come in a fixed order: where you'll pick up, when, where and when you'll return, what size, your name, a card. Your job is to have each answer ready before they ask.
Give your flight number if you're picking up at an airport. If your flight is late, the counter knows you're coming and keeps the car.
