When you need this
Once you can drive, most car talk happens on the road: giving directions to the driver, complaining about traffic, finding a place to park, and calling ahead to say you're late. Passengers help with directions and look for parking, and drivers need short, clear answers.
Directions in a moving car have to be early and simple. "Take the next left" is better than "Turn left at the street after the bank", because the driver needs to know what to do before they reach it. Say it early, and repeat it once.
