When you need this
You've found a jacket you like in a store in Chicago, but it's the wrong size, the fitting room line is long, and you're not sure about the return policy. Clothes shopping is full of small questions, and asking them clearly saves you time and a second trip.
Most of the language is about three things: size, fit and price. Size is the label (small, medium, eight, ten). Fit is how it feels on your body: tight, loose, too long, perfect. American stores use a few standard lines too. When a salesperson asks "Can I help you find anything?", the relaxed answer is "I'm just looking, thanks," and nobody will be offended.
