Bumper to bumper

Take Pedro's part first, then Rosa's. Rosa is tense and short; Pedro keeps trying to be helpful. Copy her flat "Pedro, this is worse." and the rising energy from "Okay, new idea" to "We should run."

1. RosaWe haven't moved in ten minutes, Pedro. The concert starts at eight.
2. PedroI know. It's bumper to bumper. It must be an accident ahead.
3. RosaOr it's Friday rush hour in São Paulo. Like every Friday.
4. PedroThe map says there's a faster route. Turn right at the next street.
5. RosaThe last faster route took us through a street market.
6. PedroThat was different. This one says eighteen minutes.
7. RosaFine. Turning right. (pause) Pedro, this is worse.
8. PedroIt changed. Now it says thirty-five minutes.
9. RosaWe're going to miss the first half. I waited six months for these tickets.
10. PedroOkay, new idea. There's a metro station two blocks from here.
11. RosaAnd the car?
12. PedroThere's a parking garage right next to the station. I can see the sign.
13. RosaThe metro at rush hour? It'll be packed.
14. PedroPacked, but moving. The metro stops right outside the concert hall.
15. RosaHow long would it take?
16. PedroAbout fifteen minutes. We'd make it by eight if we hurry.
17. RosaOkay. Parking now. Grab the tickets from the glove box.
18. PedroGot them. Should we run?
19. RosaWe should run. And next time, we take the metro from home.
